5.0 out of 5 stars Great chair, July 7, 2008
This review is from: Fisher-Price Zen Collection Infant Seat (Baby Product)
We recieved this chair two weeks ago and our 3 month old son loves it. He will not take naps in his crib, so we had to get him something to sleep in (other than in my arms). He LOVES sleeping in his chair (as well as just sitting in it watching his big brother). The music is very soothing...lullabies with an Asian twist. Plus some nature sounds that include hearbeat sounds. Plus, it has a volume control. Also, the vibration option for the chair is a lot smoother than other chairs we have had. I don't mind turning it on with this chair...no way with our old Graco bouncy seat. The chair is easy to fold up and carry (very lightweight), so you can carry the chair in one hand and the baby in your other arm. Note: this is not a bouncy seat.

3.0 out of 5 stars Looks great, but doesn't do much, February 2, 2011

I bought this chair for my daughter. She has used it since she was first born. She is now six months old and will still stay in the chair for a while.

Pros: The chair looks great! This is what attracted me to the chair in the first place. It's not an eye sore like most other baby products. I like the sounds and the vibrations are very smooth and quiet so that's also nice. It is lightweight, easy to clean and not so big that it gets in the way all the time.

Cons: the little dragonfly that dangles above doesn't do anything! I often have to place other toys in the chair with the baby so she is entertained. I wish that it at least moved. My baby hardly looks at it. It sucks batteries pretty quickly. Another comment mentioned forgetting to turn it off because it is so quiet and that is true. I have accidentally left it on so many times that by the time my daughter was a few weeks old the batteries were already dead. I wish it had a timer or something to turn it off... Read more

Loved that the seat could be folded up and the seat itself is attractive and takes up little space. However, contrary to original description, there is only one recline position and my 3 week old (10lbs.) looks a little awkward in the upright position. Believe they have revised since then, but older reviews from Prime state the 2 position recline, so don't be confused. Only use it if I watch him the whole time. (i.e. Wouldn't take a quick shower or turn back to him) Once he has more neck control should be better. Friend bought Fisher Price Zen Bouncer and it is muuuch more secure and felt more comfortable with NB in it. Baby stayed content longer in that bouncer. Wish I would have bought something else.

BUYER BEWARE: Most of the so-called "reviews" on this product page appear to be written by people who have not actually purchased the product for use. They are instead glib, glowing reviews gussied up by participants in an incentive-based program called "Amazon Vine" to help Amazon sell new products more quickly. I am deeply disappointed that what mis-leadingly sounded like an innovative product is poorly realized. This bouncer does NOT have two reclining positions and sits at a highly inclined angle. My seven-week-old son without neck control cannot relax in it comfortably and his head dangles forward. The seat belt is attached to the unit at the height of his shoulder, not his waist; my son is 95th percentile in height, so this is another example of head-scratching design. Additionally, the vibration unit causes the entire metal frame of the chair to rattle and buzz very loudly. The final inconvenience is that the "three ambient sounds" that are advertised will automatically... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Good idea, so so execution, September 19, 2010

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?)
It didnt work for nither the new born nor older kid. It doesnt lean properly, the position is too vertical for younger kids. For older kids, the bucket is not deep enough to hold them comfortably. Some how it never worked, looked nice after assembling but it was a big miss. If you have hard wood floors, the vibrating metal frame could be a big annoyance. But should not have any issues in carpet. Wish they had put in a little bit more thought and field study before releasing the product. Going back to fisher price bouncers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than its predecessor, still needs work though, January 21, 2007

This review is from: Fisher-Price Rainforest Bouncer (Baby Product)
This seat is for our 3 month old daughter who weighs 15 pounds. First, I'll point out the pros of this bouncer seat. The music is wonderful. The waterfall is captivating. The colors are mesmerizing. She can sit in the seat for 25 minutes easily. The seat takes 4 D-size batteries. Unlike other bouncer seats we have used, there is only one compartment for 4 D-sized batteries. Unlike its predecessor (the Ocean Wonder Aquarium), the Rainforest bouncer keeps our child AWAKE. If we wanted our child to sleep, we'd put her in bed, not the bouncer. So Fisher Price definitely got it right this time! A++!

The cons is that the seat was used twice before it started to make this loud clicking noise from the bar. Being an engineer, I took it apart and noticed that the gears are designed to click (or skip a gear) if a child were to grab the frog or the monkey while it is moving. This prevents the gears from being stripped or the motor overheating. However, the tension on this "gear... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Great seat for baby!, August 11, 2007

We've had this for a few months now, and it's still one of the "go-to" items in our house. Our daughter enjoys the lights and music and is challenged to reach the dangling toys with her hands. She also loves to prop her feet up on the bar;) The only minor gripe I have is that you cannot lower the volume of music and have it stay that way - if the music stops, then when it starts again, it pops right back up to regular volume. However, that is a *very* minor gripe, since the music is not too terribly loud in the first place. Highly recommended!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Same song, different verse, May 10, 2007
By
Milehikrs (Aurora, CO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fisher-Price Rainforest Bouncer (Baby Product)
Reading these reviews is hilarious -- everyone's comments, for the most part, reflect ours. We received the bouncer as a gift so aren't so concerned about getting value for our money. But we agree with/have noticed the following:

1. It does get too loud. We've put masking tape over most of the speaker holes. Function before fashion.

2. Our frog clicks too. I sort of bent it outward (away from the frame) and the problem has been resolved now for several weeks.

3. The vibration of the battery box is BAD. I will try the idea of taping it up somehow to the underside of the seat. We have arranged a temporary fix by putting a firm sofa cushion under the front edge of the chair to support the box and muffle the vibration.

4. The toys are WAY too low. Our daughter is just now three months old and she's been hitting her legs on them for weeks. We will be cutting the parrot off this weekend as it's the worst offender.

5. You... Read more
